Dr. P.Y. Reddy has had an impressive scientific career! He founded Sapala Organics Private Limited in 2005 with some other entrepreneurs from Japan and India. Prior to that, he worked as a Director (R&D) with Aisin Cosmos R&D Co., Ltd, a company part of the Toyota Group of Companies, and in India for over 20 years. During this time, he was involved in carrying out collaborative research between Aisin Cosmos R&D Co Ltd and IICT (Govt. of India) as well as EPFL, Switzerland for more than 15 years. He’s also credited with introducing the DSSC technology to India! On top of that, he was even a Visiting Professor at the University of Tokyo and RCAST KOMABA Campus in Tokyo, Japan.

Dr. P.Y. Reddy received his Ph.D in organic chemistry from National Chemical Laboratory (Pune, India), where he researched the application of photo chemistry for synthesizing natural products. After that, he did post-doctoral research on synthesizing pthalocyanines, organometallics, metal complexes for solar cells and fluorescence materials for biological applications with Professor Takeshi Toru at Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan. In total he’s authored or co-authored over 40 publications in international journals and has filed more than 30 Japanese and international patents! Dr. P.Y.
