Dr D Thomas Sadanand has 20 years of experience in Research and Development with the Pharmaceutical industry. He’s worked in everything from manufacture of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients to process R&D, custom synthesis, technology assessment, technology development and technology transfer. He’s also handled many contract synthesis projects, designed and executed multi-step synthesis of molecules on a commercial production scale, and is known for his cost-effective synthesis of various intermediates and active pharmaceutical ingredients.

At present he is Associate Vice President at Sapala Organics Pvt Limited where he’s responsible for operations like taking care of process lab, optimization, scale up and technology transfer processes. Prior to that he was Vice President Business Operations at Hexagon Labs Inc in New Jersey USA where he managed laboratory work, business proposals and project management in India. He was also Head R&D Process at Laxai Avanti Life Science Pvt Limited. Before that he worked for Inogent Laboratories Private Limited (A GVK BIO Company) doing multi step synthesis and communication of project updates.

He also worked with Dai-Ichi Karkaria Limited from when it first started, where he was involved in process research, optimization, validation and critical parameters study amongst other things. On top of his industrial experience he has also taught undergraduate and graduate students while obtaining his Doctoral degree from Osmania University in 1996 with publications and process patent.
