Dr. Vishweshwar Rao Katta

Dr. Vishweshwar received his Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Hyderabad, in 2007, under the guidance of Dr. J. S. Yadav. His doctoral research includes two efficient total syntheses of natural product, (-)-tetrahydrolipstatin via radical cyclization based strategy and Chiron approach, and development of novel synthetic methodologies using Lewis acid catalysts. He has authored/co-authored 11 scientific publications in leading journals.

During his post-doctoral research (2007-2010) in University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA, he has worked with Prof. Gunda Georg on medicinal chemistry project “Design, synthesis and biological evaluation of novel CDK2 inhibitors for male contraception”, NIH funded project. This project essentially involved structure based drug design and synthesis and in vitro, in vivo testing of the molecules for the anti spermatogenic effects.

Dr. Vishweshwar has achieved 3 fellowships “Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering” (GATE, 2000) in India, “National Eligibility Test” (Dec, 2000) in India, NIH Postdoctoral Fellowship (2007-2010), University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA. After completion of post-doc, he has worked in GVK Biosciences for more than 8 years. He has experience in executing various projects like Full time equivalent (FTE), Fee for service (FFS) and Purchase Order (PO).

He has joined Sapala organics private limited in December, 2018 and working as a team leader.
